McKinley Moore “The Boss of Soul” SOUTHERN SOUL MUSIC
McKinley Moore {Original Soul Composition}
R&B – Soul Revue (Tribute to Otis Redding)
Mc Kinley Moore, son of the Baptist Reverend McKinley Shaw Sr. and Mittie Arcola Moore, spent his early years in the Texas countryside and began to cut his teeth with the Gospel in church and this experience left an indelible mark on him and his " musical psyche”. He began playing drums in a garage band and then moved to San Francisco in the 70s, where he met great musicians and was directed to cultivate his voice by rediscovering his gospel roots. In the San Francisco music scene he began to make his way by participating in concerts with artists of the caliber of Albert Collins, the great Willie Dixon, Johnny Hearthsman, Billy Branch the harmonica boss, Katie Webster, Joe Louis Walker and others.
Mc Kinley developed a deep and soulful baritone style in the manner of Otis Redding, David Ruffing, Ray Charles, and Teddy Pendergrass. In 1993 he had a very serious accident which kept him sidelined for years, but it was also thanks to the meeting with Solomon Burke in 2006, who personally encouraged him and gave him the push to return to the scene.
